Another Update Regarding Our Response to COVID-19

Posted On by

Dear People’s Prep Families,

We hope that this update finds you and your loved ones in good health.

In order to do our part to protect our school community as well as our local, state, and national community, People’s Prep is joining dozens of districts in making the decision to postpone school. People’s Prep will be closed through Friday, March 27th. Please note, there are no known positive cases of COVID-19 at our school at this time.

Because we’ve extended the length of our closure, home instruction materials for all students will increase in length and depth to account for lost instructional time. We will continue to post the assignments on our website, and students need to check their PPCS email accounts on a daily basis for individual instructions and updates from their teachers. Students and families will receive more specific details about accessing materials at the beginning of the week.

Over the next two weeks, we will continue to provide meals for any of our students who would like them. We are offering a “grab and go” service on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10:00-11:30am. Staff members will be at our student entrance on Bergen Street to distribute the boxes to any People’s Prep student who arrives during that time.

If your child is in need of counseling, medication, or any other critical resource, please contact your child’s Case Manager and Council Coach directly. You will also be hearing from these support staff members shortly.

As always, please contact the school directly if your student or anyone in your family shows symptoms of the virus so that we can mobilize our resources and keep our school community safe. We can also be reached via email at info@peoplesprep.org.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this confusing and unnerving time.

Please be well and stay safe,
