Community service, enrichment programs, and internship experiences are all vital components of a successful college application. Therefore, we ensure diverse programming for students at each grade level. At the heart of the Community Programs Department is our internship program, which carefully selects students to be placed in opportunities across Newark.
In the summer of 2013, we began building strong relationships with organizations and companies in the city of Newark. Soon after, our first cohort of approximately 30 students started their internship year. Find out more about the internship program. Learn More.
We partner with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, La Casa de Don Pedro, Community Food Bank, and Jersey Cares to ensure that students have opportunities to give back and participate in Community Service. Find out more about community service opportunities. Learn More.
From as early as the fall semester, People’s Prep encourages all our students to start applying for summer opportunities. A few popular programs include Newark Youth Leadership Program at the Greater Newark Conservancy, Newark Youth Court, Sadie Nash, study abroad courses, and enrichment classes at college campuses.
